The author writes from a woman’s perspective to focus attention on the price to pay for love. She attempts to look at the costs, sacrifices, hardships, and trials that come as a price to be favored and advanced in life. Nothing worth having in this world is free. She begins by laying a biblical foundation as a believer, because she believes the Word of God is the foundation by which everything stands.
No matter if you are a believer in Christ or not – there are practical principals by which the universe operates. So, it is the authors hope that you understand that a closed fist receives little fulfillment in this life. And even if you are fulfilled, there is a certain plateau that you will reach and never surpass, because of your unwillingness to sacrifice for love.
